Carneceria Art

Don JuanIf you’ve never visited the American southwest, you’ve probably never seen a carneceria. They’re just butcher shops that cater to the Latino market, but what makes them remarkable is the art decorating their storefronts. La Virgin de Guadalupe shares wall space with goats and cows, or perhaps a fish in a sombrero, all lovingly rendered in semi-dayglow murals. So Bad It’s Good collects photos of these objects d’art y commerce, mostly featuring locations around Los Angeles.
